Hey guys, the exact same thing happened to me. Had my cyclops parked at the entrance to the lava zone. Blasted off a couple of larvas from the hull with the repulsion cannon. Then get attacked by a sea dragon from below. I thought he didnt hit me though. I was outside the sub when he fired.
