The Duggars follow this guy Gothard who started a movement called Institution of Basic Principles of Life (IBPL). So many of the teachings are the same as the JWs. Videos of their conventions are eerily similar. The problem is people see this as entertainment or crazy, one-time weirdos going against the grain. That's not the case here. This could be a documentary for half the families in Arkansas. Maybe not the direct abuse, but definitively the apathy and inaction justified by the "they need prayers" narrative.
